WHO: Stuart Miner
WHAT: Resource Team Member at the Sustainable Cities Design Academy
This initiative provides leadership development and technical assistance to local community leaders who are engaged in planning a sustainable building project in their community. City leaders are given the opportunity to present specific project design challenges and work collaboratively with resource teams of design professionals and other experts who help them consider new, innovative options and solutions.
WHEN: September 11-13, 2013
WHERE: Washington, DC
WHY: Stuart was invited to participate as a resource team member for a second year, due to his proven ability to help clients tackle environmentally complex redevelopment projects. He will be working with a team from Detroit, MI, that is developing a plan and implementation program for redevelopment of a 3,500 acre site in north east Detroit. The project, The Bloody Run Creek Greenway Redevelopment Project centers on the daylighting of this historic waterway as a fulcrum for spurring further development and stabilizing surrounding neighborhoods through the provision of a new recreational amenity. The project area includes several historical buildings and numerous brownfield properties.
